THE NITTY-GRITTY DETAILS:
Here's how it works.
1. You will request a Moxie Jean Mailer Bag be sent to your house at no charge. We’ll get that right in the mail to you and you should receive it within a few days.
2. Fill the Moxie Jean Mailer Bag with like-new outfits that your own child has outgrown or that just aren’t your style.
3. Fill out the envelope the bag came in with your name and email address and make sure you place it inside the bag so we can give you proper credit for your clothes. Indicate whether you would like the credit yourself or if you would like to donate it to the families served by the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. All credits donated to the hospital patients are handed out by hospital staff at their discretion
Special circumstances starting May 1, 2013: You can also donate your credit to benefit victims of the Marathon bombings through One Fund Boston
4. Seal the mailer bag and set it on your porch or hand it to your mail carrier.
5. When we receive your Moxie Jean Mailer, our acquisition team will go through the clothes, inspecting them carefully to make sure they meet our high standards—no stains, rips, holes, pilling fabric or signs of excessive wear (see below for more details on what we do and don’t accept). Moxie Jean does not accept clothing that smells like smoke. If we open your bag and it smells like smoke, we will immediately stop processing and not accept any items but send them for recycling.
Please note that Moxie Jean only purchases like-new, stylish baby and kids clothing. We reserve the right to decline to purchase anything you may submit to us, in which case it will be donated to charity. Moxie Jean will not return to you any clothing that we do not purchase.
6. Within a few days, our clothing acquisition team will send you an email explaining what we purchased and for how much. That email will contain a coupon code good for the amount of credit you have received. (Scroll all the way down for our complete pricing grid--no surprises.)
7. Visit www.moxiejean.com to shop for the clothes you need next. At checkout, you will be prompted to enter your coupon code to receive your credits. OR - let us know if you'd rather cash out and we'll send you a check.
8. When you receive your order in about 2-3 days, it will include a new Moxie Jean Mailer Bag so the cycle can continue!
WHAT WE ACCEPT
Moxie Jean buys like-new kids’ clothing in newborn through size 8. All clothing has to be in excellent condition, which means no stains, holes, excessive wash wear, frayed edges, oily spots, etc.
What we DON'T currently accept:
· Jumping Beans, Circo, Garanimals or Gerber, Hanes, McKids.
· Hats, scarves or mittens.
· Clothing that is very dated in style, even if it is NEW with tags.
· Clothing featuring small sports teams, local towns, activities or tourist attractions that would not have appeal to a broad audience.
· Swim wear, bibs, socks or shoes, homemade items. We will accept new and unworn socks and tights, and bibs that coordinate with an outfit if they are in new or like-new condition.
· Clothing that smells like smoke. If we open the bag and it seems to be smokey, we will not process the contents but recycle them.
